TEKTITE
A small glassy body containing no crystals, probably of meteoric origin, and bearing no antecedent relation to the geological formation in which it occurs. Tektites are found in certain large areas called "strewn fields". They are named as minerals with the suffix "ite" as "australite", found in Australia; "billionite", "indochinite", and "rizalite", found in Southest Asia; "bediasite" from Texas, and "moldavite" from Bohemia and Moravia.
