ADIABATIC PROCESS

A thermodynamic process in which no heat is given to or withdrawn from the body of air concerned. Adiabatic changes of atmosferic temperature are those that occur only as a result of compression or expansion accompanying na increase or a decrease of atmospheric pressure. Such changes are also described as dynamic heating and cooling.
